❋ 2019 TRAVEL HIGHLIGHTS - Oman -Many people get surprised when I say this, but Oman is really the perfect holiday spot. It literally has everything: diverse nature, rich history and culture, refreshing adventure spots and stunning architecture - all packed into one country! Swipe to see what I’m talking about During our 9 days there, we visited beautiful mosques and forts, swam in sinkholes and wadis, watched sunsets in the desert, tried out authentic restaurants and cooled off in the mountains Best part of it all? It was incredibly safe! And getting around was quite easy too (more on that below) ?? TRAVEL TIP: The best time to visit is October - March. I recommend spending 9-10 days here to experience all the diverse things this country has to offer. And rent a car! That’s the easiest way to go between cities and spots 1, 3, 6, 9: Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, Muscat | 2: Wahiba Sands Desert | 4: Kargeen, Muscat | 5: Nizwa Fort, Nizwa | 7: Al Ayjah Lighthouse, Sur | 8: Bimmah Sinkhole | 10: Anantara Jabal Akhdar ResortThank you to my favourite person @thestrollingshutter for being the best adventure buddy, and for all his help with these photos #iamatraveler #travelawesome #discoverearth #dametraveler #voyaged #girlsdreamtravel #visitoman #earth #sheisnotlost #tlpicks #bestplacestogo #earthpix #travellingthroughtheworld #passionpassport #natgeotravel #awesomepix #beautifuldestinations #living_destinations #earthfocus #lpfanphoto #lonelyplanet #experienceoman #sultanqaboos #speechlessplaces #wonderful_places

On our second day in Yazd, Iran, we took a taxi and went 50 km outside the city. We arrived at Sar Yazd Castle in the early afternoon, and it was still quite empty. . Walking the narrow alleys of this giant sand castle was quite surreal. The structure is so complex that without a guide, you’d never be able to find all the hidden entrances and chambers. Luckily our driver was very kind and showed us around himself. True Iranian hospitality TRAVEL TIP: Make sure to climb to the top of the tallest tower here to get this beautiful view of the surrounding desert. What’s the last castle you visited? Did you like it? . Does this place remind you of Uzbekistan? Because when I was standing there, it surely felt like I was back in Samarkand . For those of you who started following me recently - I went to Uzbekistan last year, way before visiting Iran. And if you scroll down my feed for the Uzbekistan shots, you’ll find a lot of similarities between the architecture of these two countries. Why? . The answer is simple: Persian architecture was spread far beyond Iran. It dates all the way back to 5000 BC and you can find it all across the Silk Road - from Uzbekistan, Turkey and Iraq to India, China, and even Zanzibar!Uzbekistan, for example, was under the rule of the Achaemenid Persian Empire for over 200 years. . So for those of you who’ve asked me which one you should go to, Uzbekistan or Iran - it’s too hard to choose and I’d definitely recommend both. Even though you’ll find similar architecture in both countries, they each have their own unique history, heritage, food and culture. And the people I’ve met in both countries are absolutely heartwarmingShah Mosque, Esfahan, Iran . . . . #fantastic_earth #sheisnotlost #voyaged #earthfocus #iamatraveler #earth #travelawesome #passionpassport #lonelyplanet #tlpicks #lpfanphoto #architectanddesign #wonderful_places #speechlessplaces #living_destinations #bbctravel #beautifuldestinations #visitiran #lovetheworld #earthpix #artofvisuals #blondesandcookies #bestplacestogo #girlsdreamtravel #travellingthroughtheworld #dametraveler

So excited to share my first photo from Pakistan! ?? This trip has been extremely eye-opening, heartwarming and challenging all at once, and it’s impossible to sum it up in a few sentences But I’ll start with something you guys have asked me a lot via DM: Is Pakistan safe? From my personal experience traveling here with another girl, I’ve never felt threatened or unsafe. What we did feel many times was uncomfortable and intimidated. This is mostly because if you’re a foreigner here, you will get stared at. A lot. Sometimes, people would walk up to us, stand in front of us and just stare at us. And many of them will ask for selfies too. This is because the locals here rarely see foreigners, and they’re simply curious. But they mean no harm. All in all, I wouldn’t say traveling here is dangerous. I’ve felt a lot more threatened walking in some parts of London Also, I have to add that we had so many heartwarming encounters with the locals here, and have met so many wonderful Pakistanis To name a few, thank you to the taxi and rickshaw drivers who wouldn’t take our money because “we’re guests of their country” , to all the kind strangers who let us use their hotspots so we could book Ubers, to the ticket officer in Lahore who bought us bottles of Coke as a welcoming gesture, and to the amazing strangers at a shopping mall who literally guided us and helped us shop for clothes! Come to Pakistan. You might feel intimidated. But you will also be swamped with kindness by the locals and you’ll see that many of them will completely melt your heart! Thank you @smallcrazy for being an amazing travel buddy and for your help taking this pictureTomb of Jahangir, Lahore, Pakistan #visitpakistan #travelbeautifulpakistan #letsgoeverywhere #passionpassport #bestplacestogo #liveauthentic #sheisnotlost #voyaged #ig_pakistan #iamatraveler #living_destinations #travelstoke #speechlessplaces #girlsdreamtravel #bestplacestogo #travellingthroughtheworld #lovetheworld #lonelyplanet #lpfanphoto #wearetravelgirls #ladiesgoneglobal #gltlove #dametraveler #discoverearth

Our trip to Pakistan was far too short. We only spent 1 week here due to limited time, and could only really visit Islamabad and Lahore. While there’s incredible architecture in these cities, we’ve barely scratched surface of this amazing country. If you have more time to spend in Pakistan, definitely head up north to see the beautiful nature there. You can also hike the K2 - the second highest peak in the world! I know I will come back one day to explore those regions myself. What are some places you’re looking to visit next year?
